Girl in the snow by Divij

This girl is in the freezing cold snow. The girl is wearing a warm fuzzy coat with 6 brown buttons. She also has a hoodie connected to her coat.

I think that she's feeling nervous because she's getting a photo taken. The girl has a tiny smirk on her face. There is a little boy trying to get in the photo behind her. I think that's quite sneaky.

The girl looks Canadian and she's giving a half-hearted smile. She's not waving properly either because she might be shy.

I think the girl lives in the Northern part of Canada because the girl is blushing. I think she's shy.

She's outside because she was bored inside her house. She was bored because there is no t.v. in her house.

I think the girl is keen to go back and play again in the gargantuan snow.

I wish I was there too because I've never been in snow.

Children should go to school by Samara

Do you think that children don't need to go to school. Think again.

First of all children need to go to school, so your children can be smart. Your kid can learn lots of things at school like spelling, maths and reading and writing. If your kid did not go to school, he or she will not know how to write. Your kid will get bored watching T.V. and he or she will be mean.

I hope that, you understand that school is better than watching T.V.

Children do not need to go to school by Sydney

Children do not need to go to school because they think they are smart but they are not smart and there are a lot of things to learn, a lot at school they didn't know, a lot of their maths and spelling words.

Learning is really good for your brain but lots of kids think school is boring but it's not. It is good to learn and there are fun things to do at school and cool things too. When you grow up you will know nothing because you haven't gone to school and learn and so you have to learn when you are an adult.

Your Mum, Dad, sister and your brother can teach you at home instead of going to school and learn for a long time but I think school is better than learning at home because you learn at home a little bit but at school you learn a lot and for a very, very long time.

School ends in the afternoon and at home you finish in the morning sometimes and that's not a long time. You also learn a million things at school but at home not that much.

Now I hope you know why kids really really need to go to school so that they can be really smart at their maths, spelling and reading too.

Children should go to school by Yang Yang

Do you know I disagree that children should not go to school, because they should learn at school to read and write. Now read this. About 2,000 children in New Zealand don't go to school on any one day. If you want to know more, carry on reading.

I really don't agree that little kids should not go to school, because children should really go to school, and learn at school, and always get their mind going, or buzzing.

On the other hand parents might not think that their child has to go to school, just because their child was sick for one day. They let them have a long long  holiday, and miss out school days. That's not a good idea at all.

Have a think. Do children have to go to school? Not just to learn, but also to make friends. Think about it. It will be quite boring if your child just stays home every day, watching television, and playing games. Watching television will damage their eyes, and playing games will just make them dumb because they don't learn anything. Well have a think about what if that was you. How would you like it?

It's right that children have to learn new things, and have new friends at school. Well, there is another reason that children should go to school, and that is because learning is important. If kids don't learn what will happen? Think about this. If you don't learn, what will happen to you? What will happen to your future? Have a read of the next paragraph.

If you don't learn, you will probably be poor, maybe not, but you won't have a work place, which means where to work when you grow up.

Have a think. 2,000 children not going to school? That's a lot!!! 2,000 children not going to school. Think about that. If the kids don't go to school, what will happen to them? They will have nothing for their future because they don't learn anything.

Finally, children should always go to school, because I think kids need to learn, so let your child go to school, not stay at home, and watch television every day. I hope you understand now.

Divij bike west

Today we went to the courts to have a lesson with bike west. They teach young riders skills and how to ride a bike. I think it’s nice because it encourages people to ride a bike more often.

We had three teachers. Their names were, Meg, Morgan and Brendan. First we had to check our helmet by making a Y shape on the side of the helmet. We also learnt the ABC’s on a bike. A:air B is brakes and C is chains. Then we learnt scooting. Scooting is when you put your left foot on the right pedal of your bike and both your hands on the handlebars. You have to also try to mount the bike by gliding. Gliding is when you scoot so fast on your bike that you don’t have to scoot any more. Then you can mount it. On Monday our teacher was Brendan.

Fun Bike West by Jaanvi

Today I went to bike west where we learnt how to ride bikes and learn tricks and skills. Bike west is really fun. If you want to know more about me at bike west read more of my story.

In this picture are Samara, Taonga, Lorenzo and Zairon
We had three teachers who taught different things. One teacher taught people how to ride a 2 wheeler bike.
Another teacher taught skills and tricks, same with the other teacher. The teachers’ names were Meg, Morgan and Brendan.

First Brendan taught us our A B C. The A stood for air, the B stood for
brakes lucky last, the C stood for chains.

I was with a teacher who taught skills. Mr Nisbet was with my group. There was also Yang Yang, Divij, Andy Ethan, Courtney, Amrita, Samara, Xavian and myself.

The people who I mentioned just in the last paragraph
were in my group being taught by Meg.

Some of the things we learnt were scooting, scooting then putting your foot over , gliding,  and u-turns.
