More Disaster Movies
Here is Zairon and Divij's disaster movie. They both took turns videoing and worked on the greenscreening together as well.
Disaster Movies
Here are the disaster movies students made during a topic this year studying what causes disasters and what effects they have.
The brief for these videos was to choose a disaster of their choice, research it, make notes, write a script and film a script as if they were a reporter on the scene. Next they filmed it against a green screen and then integrated it into a movie so that the background of the disaster movie was seen behind them. These are the results.
Adithi's disaster movie. Videographer (actually it was an iPad) was Amrita.

It is better to be older than I am right now by Taonga
I would like to be younger right now than I am.The reason for this is I can get what I want.
You can get what you want because you are a baby. You can just cry every time you see something like when you see a toy that you really want. You can cry for it instead of asking for it.

Ricotta and Spinach Canneloni
Here is a recipe we made in class when it was class PINS. Four students made this and enjoyed eating it for lunch.
Ricotta and Spinach Canneloni
Ingredients
Filling
San Remo Canneloni tubes
225g ricotta or cream cheese
1/4 cup grated cheese
250g spinach or silverbeet
2 egg yolks (separate the yolk from the eggy stuff)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
pinch of nutmeg
1 clove garlic, crushed
Sauce
425g can tomato puree
teaspoon ground basil leaves
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 level teaspoon salt
pinch of black pepper
Topping:
1/2 cup grated cheese
Method:
Mix spinach, ricotta, eggs, garlic, nutmeg, salt and pepper together thoroughly in a medium sized bowl. Fill the canneloni tubes with this mixture using a spoon.
For the sauce
Heat oil in a saucepan, add tomato puree, basil, salt and pepper and bring to the boil. Remove from heat.
Canneloni
In a greased ovenproof dish, pour a layer of the sauce but leave enough to cover the canneloni tubes when they are filled. Place the canneloni side by side in the dish and cover with the rest of the sauce.
Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake in oven at 200 C degrees for 25-35 minutes.

My Morph by Xavian
For my morph I chose Scott because he looks cool.
I made my morph by going on to Morphx. Then we got a picture of us and a picture of our Thunderbird character.
Next we drew little lines of where we wanted to morph. After that we played a slide show to see which photo looked the best so we can put it in Thunderbirds photos so Mr Nisbet can print it out and display it in the classroom.
Finally we had to save our photo to Mr Nisbet's folder.
Scot shows the value of team because he works with others.

Children need to go to school by Kaea
Do children need to go to school ? I think they should because they need to learn new things. If children don't learn, they won't get a degree at university or get a good job.
You should also go to school because it's better than staying at home and not learning anything at all when you can go to school and learn something that you didn't know before, maybe like fractions or
spelling words.
Getting a degree at university is really important because yo need to graduate if you don't you will have to start it all over again. A degree also helps you get a really good job or you can not get a degree at university and end up working at Pak 'N Save or Mcdonalds.
You could make really good friends that could help you if you struggle at something, like a maths question. In conclusion, it's good to go to school because you can learn new things and get to meet really good friends.

We should not have to go to School by Lorenzo
Children do not need to go to school. I think that kids should not go to school because you get to lay on the PS3 or on your iPod touch and more and play Minecraft on the Xbox 360 as well.
First of all, if you let your children go to school, they will get bored and bullied. If you don't want that to happen to your child, then keep them home so none of that will happen.
Alo they should still do homework but just at home and also let your child play video games.
On the other hand, your kids might like going to school to see all their friends and learn more than their parents. Also school is so cool because when you grow up, you will know more about the job you are going to do.

On the weekend by Marco
On the weekend on Saturday morning I was meant to go to soccer, but I didn't. First I couldn't play because our coach Conan said it was raining. When he texted everyone on Friday he said it was going to be raining. On Saturday morning the sun was shining and it was a beautiful shine.
Secondly I couldn't play because I had an extremely painful headache.
Then every time I swallowed food and drinks my throat hurt like getting smacked in the head with an axe.
I didn't know why that happened to me, and it kept on going all day and all night. I thought I would have died or I had to go to hospital, so I asked my parents if I could go to hospital. They said "No it's fine". Then on Saturday I had to eat ten pieces of orange and it felt like an axe again but I had to swallow it.
On Sunday night I had to eat some oranges again. I thought I died but I could still see, look, taste, smell and feel. When soccer was cancelled on Saturday morning, my dad wanted to watch John Carter with me so we did.
Then we watched it. Literally five minutes later, he was sleeping and I kind of thought that was a bit rude.
I turned the movie off and he said "Why aren't we watching John Carter." I said "You were sleeping and that wasn't nice so I turned off the movie."
Then he said "Let's watch Dolphin's Tale. I said "OK". We watched halfway through the movie (one hour). Then he slept again.
